The Master’s in International and Investigative Journalism—History program at FLSH trains versatile professional journalists who are ready to work immediately upon completing the program. They combine a high level of general knowledge, mastery of journalistic techniques, investigative skills, and an awareness of the media’s social responsibility. Affiliated with the Department of History, this Master’s program also emphasizes major international issues and rigorous analysis of facts.

Technical skills require proficiency in the various tools that journalists use today, whether software or equipment for filming, sound recording, and editing. Since most journalists end up working for various types of media, the program offers technical training in different news formats and writing styles, including access to the MédiaLab’s radio studios and TV sets.

This university program, which combines theory and technical training, allows students to immerse themselves in the world of reporting on the front lines of current events, to fully engage with the world of transmedia, and to quickly integrate into a newsroom. Support is provided in finding an internship to help students build their first professional network.

The second year of this Master’s program is offered either as a full-time program or as a work-study program.

The work-study program alternates between 4 weeks of classroom instruction and 4 weeks of on-the-job training.
Students can switch to a traditional academic program if they are unable to secure a contract.

This format allows students to earn a university degree while gaining significant work experience, which is often crucial for entering the workforce.
