Accessibility & Disability
The Mission Accueil Handicap (MAH) pays special attention to people with disabilities so that they can complete their studies and find their place in society and the workforce.
Facilities are designed to ensure true physical accessibility, and faculty members are attentive and adaptable. Here are a few concrete examples:
- The Yochi app offers an accessible, customizable version for people with color blindness and an interactive map with routes adapted for people with limited mobility.
- The Seinnhaser app is available to students who need hearing assistance to follow lectures in large lecture halls under the best possible conditions.
- Accommodations for cognitive disabilities are coordinated by the CPSU to ensure every student has the tools they need to succeed—for example, during exams or when revising their theses.
- Ergonomic furniture is available in several classrooms.
- Support is provided to help students find suitable internships, and coaching is offered through the RévélatHeur program.
- Our website is designed to be accessible to everyone; a button at the bottom of the page allows users to customize the appearance of the content to benefit from a simplified interface (fonts, colors, navigation, etc.).

Committing to combating all forms of harassment, violence, and discrimination
The Violence, Harassment, and Discrimination (VHD) Unit provides support to students and staff who are victims of or witnesses to incidents of violence, harassment, or discrimination. It offers confidential counseling, personalized support, and the implementation of appropriate measures in collaboration with the CPSU.

Using a Preferred First Name
The FLSH is committed to recognizing the right of any transgender or intersex person to request the use of a preferred first name in order to improve their welcome and integration within the faculty.
This preferred name will be used in internal documents at the Catholic University of Lille, such as student ID cards, attendance lists, and university email. However, this change will not apply to official documents such as diplomas, enrollment certificates, transcripts, or certificates of completion, which are governed by civil registry records.
Procedure
Students may request a change to their common name, regardless of whether they have initiated official proceedings with the government.
The form can be emailed to inscriptions@univ-catholille.fr at any time of the year, preferably before administrative registration, so that the Faculty’s offices have time to finalize the creation of the student ID card and email address before classes begin.

Scholarships
FLSH students are also eligible for national higher education scholarships under the same conditions as those at public universities. On average, 33% of our students receive scholarships each year.
In addition to this scholarship awarded by the CROUS, other scholarships specific to the Catholic University of Lille are available, subject to certain conditions:

- The Excellence Scholarship
- The Scholarship for the AIT Dual-Degree Master’s Program
Student Jobs
The FLSH also offers another source of funding:
- more than 20 student jobs per year within the faculty, tailored to students’ schedules
- student jobs posted by the Career Center.
Solidarity
For any financial difficulties during your studies, a social worker is available to assist students with scholarship applications, administrative procedures, changes in circumstances during your studies, and the loan of computer equipment.

Finally, at 70 bd Vauban, a solidarity grocery store run by students from the Fédé offers products (food, hygiene items, household products, etc.) at 80% or 90% off market prices for students receiving scholarships from the University.

How do I get extra time for exams?
Accommodations for students with disabilities must be renewed each year during registration. A medical evaluation by the CPSU is used to determine the recommendations. What training programs are available for administrative and teaching staff on disabilities?
Throughout the year, teams are educated about different types of disabilities through monthly informational emails. Additional activities are offered, such as digital challenges and role-playing workshops on the topic of disability. Specific training sessions are also available, particularly on mental health first aid and DYS disorders.
How long does the process of changing one's common name take?
The most time-consuming part is filling out the form and gathering the supporting documents. Once the application is submitted, the name change is processed within 48 hours.
In what ways are the facilities inclusive, and is the instruction adapted for students with disabilities?
Elevators, access ramps, and accessible restrooms: the facilities are designed to ensure true physical accessibility. Teachers are trained in DYS disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and mental health conditions, and are able to adapt their teaching methods, adjust the pace of their lessons, and listen to students.
What measures are being proposed for students with disabilities?
Extended exam time, exam proctor, loan of assistive devices, tutoring, psychological support, thesis review, assistance in finding suitable internships, career guidance and planning, coaching…

What financial aid is available at the FLSH?
