Les témoignages de nos étudiants

When I arrived at FLSH, I discovered the Creative Campus. Since I’m passionate about performing and dance, I signed up for voguing and musical theater classes, where I met new people and got involved in a show celebrating the Catho’s 150th anniversary. As part of my bachelor’s degree, I also had the opportunity to go on a study abroad program in Texas, in the United States.

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

Our fondest memories are of the ‘Seven Rila Lakes’ hike – a series of seven magnificent glacial lakes set in the Rila Mountains. Here in Bulgaria, nature remains unspoilt and it really is breathtaking!

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

I’ve been an avid reader since I was a child, and my choices have always been guided by this passion. I earned a bachelor’s degree in modern literature, followed by a master’s degree in writing, literature, and digital publishing, which allowed me to discover the world of publishing and take charge of numerous projects, each one more interesting and enriching than the last. Now that I’ve graduated and can look back, I realize that my studies were a true source of happiness, and I have very fond memories of them and the wonderful people I met along the way.

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

This bachelor’s degree program gave me a hands-on introduction to psychology through easy communication with professors, interactive seminars, and a variety of resources such as podcasts, movies, and TV shows. The internships also help us build a strong application for master’s programs.

Léo

former student in Bachelor's Degree Psychology

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

What attracted me most to this bachelor’s program was its broad-based approach, which allows us to build a solid foundation to prepare for the entrance exams to journalism schools. Beyond the coursework, one of the program’s main strengths is the small class size, which allows for personalized attention. It’s a pleasant and enriching learning environment that suits me perfectly.

Emilie

former student of Bachelor’s degree Humanities

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

I have dyslexia, dysorthography, and attention disorders. I’ve always had to work harder than others. But here, since I’m doing what I love, it’s completely different. Right from the start, I requested a support plan, and I received a response in less than an hour. Everything fell into place quickly. I submitted the accommodations I’d received for my high school diploma exams, along with the doctor’s note, and was granted extra time on my exams. You don’t feel excluded at all because the support is already in place. I really appreciated not having to deal with a lot of red tape when I was just getting used to student life! Finally, the professors make sure everyone understands the material, especially in the first semester—they adapt to our pace.

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

I chose the Catholic University of Lille because I liked the idea of a more personalized education. What I particularly appreciate about this program is the close relationship with the faculty. We have some of the same professors from the bachelor’s through the master’s program, which creates a real sense of continuity. They are approachable, always available to offer advice, and each brings their own expertise in different fields such as translation, literature, or cultural studies. I really like this multidisciplinary aspect.

Sixtine

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

While I developed a particular interest in American culture, what stands out most to me is the teaching staff’s ability to make subjects that may seem daunting at first—such as grammar or phonetics—truly engaging. The translation and literature courses were just as enriching, thanks to passionate and engaging instructors. Beyond the classroom, I was touched by the professors’ kindness; they patiently guided us through everything from the methodology for our first research papers to our choices for master’s programs.

The MediaLab is an excellent academic resource that allowed me to get a behind-the-scenes look at radio journalism and explore careers in communications. This immersive space complements the theory we learn in class. As a member of the Student Council, I was also able to use it to launch our charity livestream, which had a professional look and feel and provided great visibility for our project.

“This degree program allowed me to participate in many hands-on projects, such as writing workshops and the creation of a short story collection. I also explored different forms of expression by writing articles, columns, and even a podcast.”

At FLSH, I immediately felt right at home. With its projects, vibrant student organizations, and genuine sense of community, it’s a university that helps you grow.

The journalism degree program provides a solid foundation in general knowledge to prepare students for entrance exams to journalism schools and master's programs. Combining general knowledge, practical experience, and passion helps students develop critical thinking skills, a rigorous writing style, a genuine curiosity about the world, and a solid foundation in current events.

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

I chose this bachelor’s program because I’d really like to become a child psychologist someday, and I’m enjoying it. I’ve been actively involved outside of class by joining the communications team for a mystery game organized by the FLSH.

Julie

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

When I was in high school, I didn’t read much; the only books I would even tolerate were manga. I was afraid I wouldn’t understand them, and I didn’t know what to read. In my junior year, there was a book that sparked my love of reading. Before starting this bachelor’s program, I pursued a bachelor’s degree in psychology, but I ended up failing my first year. Eventually, I switched to a bachelor’s program in literature, writing, and creative writing—and it was the best decision of my life! I did an internship at FNAC in the bookstore section and at a publishing house in Paris, where I read manuscripts.

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

I came in this bachelor’s program as part of my return to school, and I was quickly welcomed into the class. The introductory courses in neuropsychology were very interesting. In my second year of the bachelor’s program, I had the opportunity to do an internship and take courses in clinical methodology, where I learned the clinician’s approach and how to assess psychopathology, and I found my path for the future.

Hafida

former student in Bachelor's Degree Psychology

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

I pursued this bachelor’s degree because I wanted to become a photographer, while keeping other career options open in case I changed my mind. It gave me a broad artistic education and a foundation in the arts, including an understanding of how the arts scene works in France. I was also able to get involved in student life at the Catho through the Student Federation.

Pétronille

former student in Bachelor's Degree Performance Arts, Film Studies and Contemporary Music

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

It’s a very interdisciplinary bachelor’s program: there are courses in radio, film, and communication theory… I’m really enjoying my time at the Catho: I’m studying subjects I’ve chosen myself and pursuing my passions through student organizations. It’s shaping me for the future, and I know I’ll look back fondly on my college years in Lille.

Eloi

former student in Bachelor's Degree Media, Culture and Communication

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

I had been learning English and Spanish since middle school, and I added Japanese as a third language because I was fascinated by the culture. I really like how my bachelor’s program delves deeply into languages —it covers everything, from writing to speaking. What made the biggest impression on me was the opportunity I had to travel to the United States and South Korea.

Alix

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

As someone passionate about history, I particularly enjoyed the coursework I took during my bachelor’s degree. We are thoroughly familiarized with essay writing and source analysis from the very first year, which ensures we are well-prepared for the rest of our academic journey. We are required to give numerous oral presentations, which helps us develop our public speaking skills. The bachelor’s program provides a broad overview of different historical periods, which broadens our cultural understanding. The professors are always available to help us, which is a major strength. Finally, the program prepares us fairly quickly to choose our master’s degree, a key step before entering the professional world.

Gaspard

former student in Bachelor's Degree History

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

In addition to English and Spanish, I learned Chinese, which broadened my cultural horizons. The bachelor’s program also gave me the opportunity to gain several international experiences: a language study abroad program in Spain, an internship in Belgium, and, coming soon, a university exchange program in Australia. These opportunities, combined with my participation in conferences and workshops, were particularly formative. Furthermore, my involvement in the bachelor’s program’s student association allowed me to actively participate in faculty life while developing practical skills in organization, communication, and teamwork.

Lison

student in Bachelor's Degree Modern Languages and International Business

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

The comprehensive and flexible curriculum offered by this bachelor’s program not only fosters a passion and natural interest in the discipline but also allows students to envision their future in the professional world starting in their first year, thanks to the various specialized tracks available. The wide variety of workshops, combined with the quality of the lectures and the teaching staff, makes this a program that is certainly rigorous but also enjoyable and fulfilling. The small class sizes further enhance this intimate atmosphere and allow students to build meaningful relationships on both a personal and professional level.

Lucas

former student in Bachelor's Degree History

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

I’ve had a passion for English for a long time: I used to ask my mother for books or magazines to help me learn. That memory came back to me, and I decided to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages, Literatures, and Civilizations—English. What convinced me was the quality of the instruction, the atmosphere, the university’s convenient location, and the opportunities—especially study abroad programs. I was quickly able to put together an application to study in Switzerland as part of an exchange program. Today, I feel right at home in a program that challenges me, where I can envision a professional future that’s more in line with who I am.

Emma

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

If I had to describe student life at Catho, I’d say it’s a little world of its own. It reflects who we are as students: a rich and varied mix of interests, with a healthy dose of cheerfulness and a desire to meet new people. Nestled in the heart of Lille, student life draws on the energy and good cheer of the North while benefiting from the university’s facilities, support, and experience.

Thomas

student in Bachelor’s degree Humanities

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

Alongside my studies, I’m very involved in the activities of the Creative Campus. For the past two years, I’ve been participating in dance and musical theater workshops… and this year, I even had the chance to play the lead role in the musical *Back to the 80’s – The Musical*. It’s an incredible opportunity, because it allowed me to go from being just a student to a performer on stage. It’s thanks to the guidance and trust I was given that I was able to truly shine.

Questions fréquentes sur les licences

Prêt à nous rejoindre ? On répond à vos questions !
