Les témoignages de nos étudiants

As a Master’s student in International Relations, I felt it was essential to gain academic experience abroad. That is why, from the very first days of my first year of the Master’s programme, I took an interest in the dual-degree programme set up with the Master’s in European Studies at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. Beyond the international experience itself, studying European Studies and International Relations abroad offers greater depth and perspective on our field of study. Furthermore, Cluj-Napoca is a very international city with a vibrant student life. The lecturers at Babeș-Bolyai University are very approachable, and you find yourself part of a cosmopolitan cohort. Beyond university life, I have very fond memories of a few-day trip to Budapest with the Cluj ESN network and my road trip across the whole of Transylvania.

Les témoignages de nos étudiants

These two years on the Master’s programme have been a very enriching experience, both professionally and personally. Thanks to the lectures, projects and the people I’ve met, I’ve learnt a great deal and gained confidence. I have some wonderful memories of the Catho, particularly the Figma module where we created a real app, as well as the food photography module, where our lecturer organised a photoshoot with a caterer – it was a really original experience. Beyond the skills I’ve acquired, I’ve met some wonderful people, and this Master’s programme has enabled me to secure a job in a field I’m passionate about. Thank you to the university for these two wonderful years!

My Master’s degree was a real eye-opener. The programme is highly career-focused, thanks to the work placements, meetings with cultural stakeholders in the Lille metropolitan area, and the numerous practical projects, such as making documentaries or designing exhibitions. Beyond technical and methodological skills, this Master’s degree taught me how to chart my own career path and provided me with a solid toolkit. This cross-disciplinary approach has enabled me to develop a career path at the intersection of documentary filmmaking, cultural mediation and exhibition curation, in line with my commitments and professional aspirations. After five years at the Catholic University of Lille, I also recall the quality of the personal support I received. I was always supported, both by the lecturers and by the administrative staff. I often felt that the Catho was like a real small town, offering an environment conducive to personal, academic and professional fulfilment. These five years taught me to be bold, to experiment and to forge a unique career path, building on a solid foundation and an open-mindedness that continue to guide my practice today.

The Master’s Degree Strategic Communication allowed me to gain both a strategic and cross-disciplinary perspective on contemporary communication challenges. Through hands-on projects, meetings with professionals, visits to embassies, and participation in the Model United Nations (MUN), I was able to develop skills in analysis, public speaking, and negotiation in a variety of contexts. My work on influence, international relations, and communication strategies has taught me to consider multiple perspectives and understand the diversity of actors who shape the public sphere. This approach, which combines theory and practice, is now a real asset: it informs my perspective on the various professional environments I encounter and allows me to approach each situation with a more comprehensive, critical, and context-specific understanding of the challenges on the ground.

Being part of Éditions de l’Horloge taught me how to promote a book: the key is to stand out. With Éditions de l’Horloge, we published two books: a collection of poems about French idioms, and a coffee-table book celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Catholic University of Lille.

This master’s program immediately appealed to me because of its approach to communication, which combines the humanities with digital tools. I’m discovering a wide range of courses, ranging from sociology to UX design, including project management, storytelling, and issues related to artificial intelligence. This diversity allows me to develop a more comprehensive understanding of communication and fully contributes to my academic growth. I completed my first-year Master’s internship at WAAO, the Lille Center for Architecture and Urban Planning, where I was able to put the skills I’d acquired during my program into practice. I also feel particularly at home at the FLSH, which offers me a stimulating and supportive learning environment. If I had to do it all over again, I would make this choice without hesitation.

While some professionals use a primarily medical model to explain illness, health psychologists use a model that combines medical, social, and psychological factors. This approach helps us understand how mental health impacts physical health and how essential it is to take it into account. In this master’s program, the primary focus is on prevention; protecting mental health means protecting physical health.

This master’s program has allowed me to develop a more accurate, thoughtful, and practice-oriented clinical approach. The role-playing exercises and the internship give real meaning to the theoretical concepts and help us better understand and internalize our role with patients and their loved ones. The program also emphasizes scientific rigor, particularly through the writing of the thesis and the creation of scientific presentation materials (such as scientific posters). Finally, ethical reflection plays a central role and leads me to constantly question my choices, my clinical approach, and my future professional practices.

Thanks to the internship and international exchange opportunities offered by the master’s program, I was able to enrich my professional and personal journey by spending time in Austria before continuing my studies in Chile. These experiences allowed me to develop my skills, discover new cultures, and build a future focused on an international career.

I really wanted to get into this master’s program. I did an internship in child welfare that I really enjoyed. In my second year, I went to a clinic to do an internship in addiction treatment, and then in psychiatry. It’s hard for me to think that I’ll have to leave the FLSH; I’ve never felt as comfortable as I have here, where I’ve spent five incredibly enriching years. If I had to do it all over again, I’d do everything exactly the same way!

The Master’s in Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience perfectly reflects what one is looking for when aiming to pursue both clinical practice and research. Its strength lies in its integrative approach, covering all age groups, from children to the elderly. Beyond the coursework, this master’s program feels like a true family. As a student representative, I can attest to the importance placed on peer support as well as the quality of interaction between the faculty and students. This sense of community creates a caring and stimulating environment that fosters personal and professional growth.

The Master’s in Public History is a good blend of a research-oriented program—which allows us to work with archival materials—and a career-focused program—which prepares us to work in the field of historical interpretation. The faculty support is excellent; with small class sizes, professors have more time to devote to us. The guidance for the thesis is outstanding, and we work on various projects such as exhibitions and the creation of digital content, which gives us an overview of our future career.

My master’s program is the perfect blend of creativity and technical expertise! We don’t just learn about communication—we experience it firsthand through real-world projects, working in teams, and exploring everything from digital strategies to HTML. We develop our curiosity, our critical thinking skills, and our ability to adapt to a constantly changing world. Communication is everywhere and makes all the difference, no matter the industry! After earning my bachelor’s degree in modern literature, I decided to pursue my passion by completing my internship at Presses Universitaires du Septentrion.

This master’s program, which combines rigorous scientific research with the study of communication and outreach techniques related to history, is not only an academic benchmark but also a truly enriching human experience. The projects we undertake allow us to put into practice what we aspire to achieve professionally. The research guidance and support provided by the faculty enable us to produce—in addition to numerous cultural projects—an innovative and rewarding research thesis. Although this Master’s program is very rigorous, it offers a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth.
