The Master’s degree Neuropsychology and cognitive neuroscience addresses the many facets of the neuropsychologist’s profession by offering theoretical and practical training in the field of neuropsychology, with a focus on diagnosis, rehabilitation and support.
This Master’s programme aims to train professionals capable of meeting the challenges of neuropsychology today and in the future. The programme focuses on providing the knowledge essential both for professional practice and for the development and monitoring of fundamental research in cognitive neuroscience.
Collaboration with numerous professionals from the Lille Catholic Institute Hospital Group (GHICL) enables the programme to offer students work placements as an integral part of their studies.

Key skills
- To apply scientific rigour and clinical sensitivity when analysing the symptoms and disorders of patients and their families;
- To have a thorough understanding of anatomoclinical correlations and neuropsychological semiology;
- Be familiar with neurological conditions in adults and children that result in cognitive and emotional impacts (stroke, brain tumours, head injuries, neurodegenerative diseases, neurodevelopmental disorders, genetic conditions, etc.);
- Be able to support patients and carers of those with neurological disorders, manage psychological distress and emotional difficulties, and provide rehabilitation for cognitive impairments (using a variety of interventions, including cognitive and behavioural techniques);
- Diagnose, assess and treat the emotional and cognitive disturbances of patients with neuropsychological disorders

In practical terms, the course promotes learning through cross-disciplinary projects and the analysis of real-world case studies.
A number of practising professionals deliver lectures in the first and second years.
500 hours of work placements are compulsory to complete the Master’s degree and, upon completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, to qualify as a psychologist.
This Master’s degree prepares students for a wide range of careers in neuropsychology, working with either children or adults. Neuropsychologists may work as employees or on a self-employed basis.
He usually works as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside doctors, speech and language therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, etc.
