This course enables students to understand human activities and behavior, both from the theoretical and the practical point of view. The student will acquire skills to help them analyze the different situations they will encounter in psychology. All the main areas of the discipline are covered (abnormal psychology, clinical psychology, social psychology, work psychology, developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, neuropsychology, research methodology and statistics) from different theoretical angles. The student also learns about the role of the psychologist and psychological practice and ethics. The course is, of necessity, very general in order to give students as complete an overview of the discipline as possible.

Language of instruction: French
Academic Calendar: Fall semester from early September to Christmas, spring semester from early January to mid-May. Approximately 475 teaching hours per year.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must have a high school graduation diploma, British A’Levels or an equivalent diploma.
Non-native speakers of French must prove they have attained the level B2 on the European scale.

Starting in the first year of the Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, the curriculum consists of a scientific component and a disciplinary component covering the three major fields of psychology: clinical psychology, industrial-organizational psychology, and neuropsychology.

What's next

During their psychology studies, students are required to complete an internship starting in their third year of the Bachelor’s program. The internship is validated by the submission of an internship report. Supervision sessions are organized to monitor the internship (students may also complete an optional internship in their second year of the Bachelor’s program).

Active associations of young professionals (“Travaillons psy” and “Psy en devenir”) exist within the university. They become involved starting in the second year of the Bachelor’s program and prepare Master’s students for entry into the professional world.

To earn the title of Psychologist, five years of study in Psychology are required. Students must follow their Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Master’s degree in Psychology.
