This course teaches several valuable skills for those who wish to participate in a company’s international development, from creating and exporting products to undertaking business negotiations with foreign partners and authorities, particularly where these concern marketing. The course is intended for students who already have a good command of two modern languages in addition to their native language and a good knowledge of the world of international business. Teaching includes analysis of several case studies.

Graduates will be able to conduct an international market survey, launch a product onto the world market, elaborate a strategy of internationalisation for a company, use a wide range of sales techniques, take responsibility for international purchasing, avoid common traps in international business negotiations, undertake an import/export diagnosis and evaluate risks.

Academic Calendar: Fall semester from mid-September to Christmas, Spring semester from mid-January to mid-May (first year) or mid-January to mid-March (second year)

For students wishing to pursue a career in teaching, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FLSH) has a partnership with the Institute of Teacher Training. This partnership enables them to undertake a 60-hour pre-professional training module each year throughout their Bachelor’s degree, which prepares them for a career in teaching and helps them develop their career plans.

As part of its policy to support the funding of studies, the FLSH is introducing a grant of €2,000 for prospective students of the first year of the Bachelor’s degree in History, French studies, English and American Studies and Performance Arts, Film Studies and Contemporary Music.

Which Master’s programmes are available after this Bachelor’s degree?

How much are the tuition fees?

Fees are calculated based on the household’s taxable income. An online calculator is available on the UCLille website. Scholarships are available.

Am I eligible for CROUS grants at the FLSH?

Yes. The FLSH is authorised to accept students receiving CROUS grants. The tuition fee is adjusted according to the grant tier.

What is the pace of the course?

Full-time face-to-face training. Small groups. Theoretical lessons and practical work in the archives.

What are the selection criteria for this Bachelor’s degree?

Admission via Parcoursup based on application. Results in history and geography and in French are given particular weight.

What careers can you pursue with a Bachelor’s degree in History?

Education, archiving, journalism, heritage, the cultural sector, research, diplomacy following further study.

Is there any international experience?

Erasmus partnerships enable students to spend a semester studying abroad from the third year of their degree onwards.
